As many as 43,957 of the 5,71,627 candidates were declared successful in (University Grants Commission National Educational Testing) UGC NET Examination that was held in June 2012, the result of which was announced on Tuesday, 18th September 2012. 3625 among the successful candidates have also qualified for Junior Research Fellowship.
UGC NET is mandatory for the position of Lecturer. The minimum qualifying criteria for general category candidates was 65 per cent, for OBC it was 60 per cent and 55 per cent for SC/ST and candidates with disability.
The UGC had uploaded the answer keys and question papers on its website and invited online feedback from the candidates. The answer keys were re-examined and updated wherever necessary before finalisation of the result, said UGC in a statement.
