There had been various complaints about the user interface provided to the students for filling information online while submitting their application for Joint Entrance Test (JEE Mains), the nationwide single entrance test prescribed for central government funded engineering and technology colleges and also the prestigious IITs. The interface lacked the facility of verifying for the students if they have filled in the correct information. To add to the woes of the students, now the JEE admit cards which were downloaded from the website, do not have class XII roll numbers which is a vital information the students were required to provide at the time of filling online application. As such students are worried if there could have been a mistake in filling the JEE form.
Now CBSE, which is responsible for conducting the JEE Mains exam, online as well as traditional paper / pencil method, has announced to have introduced a procedure to be followed by all the students on the JEE Mains Exam day.
Accordingly, each student will be provided with an “authentication sheet” which will have their information along with the class XII Board exam roll number printed on it. Students will be requested to correct the information if found wrong and submit the sheet back to the invigilator. However every student also will be required to submit photocopy of their Board document such as final marksheet (for students clearing class XII in 2012) or copy of their Board exam admit card (for students who appeared their boards this year), says the press note released by CBSE.
