In an important meeting held on Thursday and headed by Vice Chancellor Ashok Kumar, the Executive Council of Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University accorded its approval to the five-year Integrated LLB (Bachelor of Law) course to be run on the university campus from academic session 2013-14 on semester basis.
Kumar informed at a press conference held in the university premises that the university will seek permission of the Governor of the state and Chancellor of the university for the course in due course of time and thereafter the university will obtain recognition to the course from Bar Council of India.
The 5-year integrated course, the fees of which is yet to be decided, will be open to the students after 10+2 through an entrance exam.
The meeting also decided upon making PhD students mandatory to undergo a 6 months training course. The students will first have to appear in two exams and score minimum of 50% marks in each exam. Each paper would be of 100 marks. The first paper would be of Research Methodology, Objective Hypothesis and thesis writing. This course will consist of topics like foundation research, type and method of research, review of literature and problem definition, planning of research and report writing. Second paper would be of computer application and quantitative technique.
The students must have to attend at least 75% of the training classes and meet the eligibility criteria in performance during the training and examinations, before their enrollment for doctoral research, the official announcement said.
