The Common Admission Test (CAT), for admissions to MBA programs in IIMs, which is usually conducted over a 20-day window will be held for 21 days this year starting from October 11, 2012 to November 6, 2012.
This will give more flexibility to the candidates appearing for CAT 2012. Candidates are advised to register early to get their preferred choice of location, date and time, said Prometric India, the agency in-charge of conducting the test.
The small change was introduced after Prometric took feedback from candidates and stakeholders and reviewed its internal process. Apart from an extra day, there will be no new changes in CAT 2012 and the two sections and timings will be same as last year.
The previous computer-based tests have not been completely bereft of glitches. At the moment, the company is in the process of ensuring a smooth CAT for this year. Prometric will complete the training and certification of all test centre staff before the start of the testing window to ensure they are well equipped to assist candidates during the test. The company has also built in contingent capacity in all locations to cater to any unforeseen technical issues that cannot be resolved immediately.
