The opening day of online registration for NEET-PG, the first common entrance test for all post-graduate courses in medical colleges in the country for 2013-14, witnessed heavy rush on Thursday, which brought about technical glitches as candidates of NEET complained of not being able to log on to the website. While candidates complained of the website crashing for a few hours during registration on Thursday, the National Board of Examination (NBE) claimed that there was no such thing but admitted to attempts of server hacking about 120 in number, which were fended by experts by activating many firewalls. Part of the problems were also attributed to candidates across the country tried to login at the same time, by the officials.
Despite those glitches and hacking attempts, more than 54,000 medicos are reported to have registered online over Thursday and Friday. NBE is also reported to have announced additional 4000 seats for the CET this year.
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Post-graduates (NEET-PG) courses in medical sciences, applicable for admission to 20,000 PG medical seats in 350 medical colleges, is being held between November 23 and December 6 this year across 33 cities across the country.
