Ignited Innovators of India [I2I] is a movement organized by BHAU institute of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership [BIEL]. It aspires to reach every student in India to begin with and provide them with an opportunity to be social entrepreneurs and bring about small but significant changes in the world around them. The movement is willing to support a huge number of projects. More than 300 projects were funded and nurtured in last two year.
The BIEL launched the program for the year 2012-13 in association with College of Engineering Pune (COEP) recently. Eaton Corporation will provide mentorship, funding and networking support to the participants. Bhau Institute would partially fund these projects and encourage the students to raise some money from the stakeholders.
Under this program 1500 participants from 100 colleges spread across 30 cities will be selected. Close to 200 projects related to technology, education, environment, agriculture, health and social cause will be short listed and later two projects from each category will be declared as winners in March 2013. Twelve Eaton employees will mentor the students. The mentors will guide and support the students at every stage of their project lifecycle.
Last year over 1000 students from 30 colleges across Maharashtra participated in the program. 211 projects were submitted, of which 85 projects were shortlisted for final evaluation. Participants had submitted projects on Agriculture, Education, Environment, Health, Technology and few other areas of social significance that require constant positive change and up-gradation. The participants identified prominent areas of change and proposed innovative solutions to address the same. Two participants from each of these areas were declared winners and were felicitated.
