A six-month vocational training program on Panchakarma Therapy an Ayurvedic Treatment has been declared launched from Friday. An official statement said that the program is open for male or female candidates having passed 10th standard with working knowledge of English and in the age group of 18 to 28 years. Only twenty candidates will be selected on the basis of the personal interview which will be conducted only at Bangalore. However the candidates may apply for the course through any of the local centres of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
The program launched by IGNOU’s Centre for Traditional Knowledge Systems (CTKS) is a residential, skill development program which includes practical and theoretical training with hospital posting. The training will be conducted at the campus of Foundation for Revitalisation of Local Health Traditions (FRLHT) at Bangalore, a government recognized research organisation with a clinical centre, the statement said.
According to the statement, training will begin in January 2013. The last date for submitting the application forms to CTKS is Dec 25, 2012. The applications are to be sent to the CTKS, Block – 1, Room No.15, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-1100068.
As per the varsity, fee for tuition, practical, clinical, study hours, library, evaluation, boarding and food will be free of cost for the entire period of six months.
