The first IIT Joint Entrance Exam to be conducted by Joint Admission Board (JAB) shall be held on 2nd June 2013. The exam, which is to be conducted in two parts (shifts) on the same day, shall have the same old pattern. Both the papers would be of 3 hours duration each and based on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Both examination papers will be offline only and students can appear in them through English & Hindi medium. Further details on the objective type exam and pattern will be shortly made available on the official website of IIT-K.
Members of Joint Admission Board (JAB) are scheduled to meet in Delhi on 23rd September to discuss about declaration of results and conducting counseling for the successful candidates.
As has been declared earlier, the students who qualify the JEE Mains exam will only be eligible for filling the form of the JEE Advance exam. These forms would be filled off-line by the successful students.
The admission to the undergraduate programs at the IITs and ISM, Dhanbad for the year 2013 will be based only on category wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE(Advanced) subject to the condition that such candidates are in the top 20 percentile of successful candidates of their Boards in applicable categories. Only 1,50,000 of the top rankers in JEE(Main), which includes students from all categories( GE,OBC(NCL), SC and ST ) will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced.
