Joint Admission Board (JAB) of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), which met on Sunday has decided on NOT to go for Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for JEE Advanced in 2014.
“We will follow a systematic approach before implementing the CBT. The Board will set up a committee to study the online process and only then will implement it in future,” N K Panigrahi, JEE-Advanced 2014 Chairman is reported to have told TOI.
It was informed that the JEE Advanced exam pattern would be same as 2013 and aspirants will have a paper-pencil test, to be tentatively held on May 25, 2014. This is about a week in advance compared to 2013, however a formal official announcement is awaited about this date. CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), which conducts the first layer JEE Mains is understood to choose April 6, 2014 for the test. Only after the official announcement of the JEE Mains date, it would be possible for JAB to announce JEE Advanced date officially, an official is reported to have said.
