La Trobe University entered into an MoU with three leading Indian institutes – Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara (JSS) University at Mysore, Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) and Cummins College at Pune – to promote student exchange programs and joint research projects.
Brian McGaw, Dean of science, technology and engineering faculty at La Trobe University, made an announcement to that effect on Thursday. “The tie-ups will enable students of JSS, MIT and Cummins to participate in exchange programs and conduct research projects benefiting students of our university and the three partner institutes,” he said.
The Australian university, named after Victoria’s first lieutenant-governor La Trobe, is known for its academic excellence and research achievements. The university was established in 1965 and since then About 140,000 students graduated from its five campuses across the state.
La Trobe University entered into similar tie-ups early this year in February, with Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, in Rajasthan, Delhi Technological University (DTU), leading IT major HCL and auto major Mahindra Reva.
