National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Post Graduation (NEET PG), the nationwide eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as single entrance examination to various MD / MS and PG Diploma courses will begin on November 23. National Board of Examinations (NBE) will be conducting NEET PG as Computer Based Test (CBT), from November 23 through December 6, 2012 at test centres located in 33 cities across the country.
Candidates who possess an MBBS Degree / Provisional MBBS pass certificate from recognised institute and have completed one year of internship or are likely to complete on or before March 31, 2013 are eligible for NEET PG.
Commenting on the nature of the test, NBE official said that the test comprises of 240 multiple choice, single correct response questions delivered using computers network.
However, whether the test would be applicable in the State of Maharashtra will depend upon the outcome of a legal battle. They had challenged implementation of new policy for admissions to both graduate (NEET UG to be held in May, 2013) and post-graduate medical courses and MCI notifications of December 21, 2010 and February 15, 2012 communicated to them April 16, 2012. Next hearing is fixed for November 26.
