The Postgraduate Diploma course in Computer Applications has been discontinued by the Delhi University from this academic session for the reason of the course has not been able to attract enough students. The four colleges – Shahid Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Deen Dayal Upadhyay College and Archarya Narendra Dev College, where these courses were taught were informed about this decision, by the faculty of science through a letter sent on Friday 15 June.
Only 5 to 10 students were registering for the course and to make matters worse, some of the students pulled out midway. It is understood that it was on the recommendations of the colleges that the course has been discontinued as students were struggling to get jobs after completing the PG diploma, which was probably the reason for poor response to the course.
