In a new amendment to the rules framed for PhD entrance test, the Bhopal-based Rajiv Gandhi Technical University (RGTU) has made it mandatory for candidates to get the application forms forwarded by their guide. RGTU is the first university in the State of Madhya Pradesh which has been conducting PhD entrance test for the past two years. The university will hold PhD entrance test in December this year.
In a statement, the Vice Chancellor of RGTU Prof Trivedi said that the amendment would help the students by way of saving the time to go in search of a guide after clearing the PhD entrance exam and also the university will know the name of the guide before the students clear the entrance, since in many cases the guide names that were submitted were not found eligible in the past, which required student to waste more time in searching for second guide.
The amendment is thus in an attempt to streamline the PhD entrance test.
