“Quality and employability of graduates is a serious challenge. There is a need actually to re-educate them for some extra months.” Said Shashi Tharoor in an address at the Observer Research Foundation. While Expressing concern over quality in higher education, Minister of State for Human Resource Development Friday said the government was taking steps to change the situation.
Tharoor said that the government is considering forming a higher level body on skills development as suggested in Narayana Murthy Committee Report. “A multi-pronged approach is needed, he said.
The Narayana Murthy Committee has asked the government to ensure that big companies were invited to help in developing higher education.
