Rashtrapati Bhavan Opens Its Doors For Journalism Interns

Rashtrapati Bhavan is inviting applications from eligible journalism graduates for the position of “Journalism Interns”, a press release said. Interested journalism graduates specialising in law, literature, political science and history would get an opportunity to work as interns in the press wing of the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

The main purpose of the scheme is to familiarize willing and eligible graduates pursuing Journalism, Law, History, Political Science, Literature etc. with the political journalism, process of decision making in the Indian parliament and various ministries.

Candidates having a first class graduate degree in Journalism, Law, History, Political Science and Literature from Universities/Institutions of National and International repute, are considered eligible for the post of Journalism Interns. Under graduate students of exceptional qualifications will also be considered, the press release says.

The duration shall be three months at different points of time during a year and can be extended depending on the performance of the intern. The interns would be paid remuneration @ Rs.5000/- per month per intern, payable on satisfactory completion of their internship. However, interns will have to make their own arrangement for accommodation and transport.

The selected interns would be attached to different sections of the Press Wing of President’s Secretariat and will report to Deputy Press Secretary. The last date of application is 26 December 2012. Interested candidates may download the further information on application procedure from here .
