The newly appointed Union HRD Minister, Pallam Raju, Friday, said that The Right to Education Act (RTE) will be fully implemented in the country by 2013. He was responding to the queries of the reporters at Annavaram, in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.
The minister added that the UPA government was preparing a draft policy for the development of education sector and skill-technology in the country.
“More institutes providing vocational courses will be developed in the country to help the skilled,” he added.
The UPA government had introduced the Right to Education Act in 2009, which was passed in the parliament on 4th August 2009 and became effective from 1 April 2010. The Act provides for free and compulsory education to all children of the age of six to fourteen years in the vicinity of their neighbourhood.
