After the recent revocation of London Metropolitan University’s (LMU) license to admit Indian and other non-EU students, a move that has affected many Indian students enrolled at the university, seem to have caused an adverse effect on the minds of the students currently contemplating to take higher education in UK.
A section of students wanting to go to UK for higher education seem anxious, thinking that a similar situation may arise at the other universities of their choice there. Overseas education consultants are facing tough times to allay these doubts as some students have cancelled their plans for studying in UK altogether, the sudden revocation of LMU license being the ultimate cause, among other causes, said some consultants.
“The Anuj Bidve case last year, changes in the Post-Study Work (PSW) visa policy in UK coupled with the recent development of revocation of the license of a recognized university have played a role creating doubts in the minds of the students. The situation has led students to fear a similar situation with other institutions they choose to study in UK,” said a consulting firm.
